Immanuel Lutheran Church in Columbus, Nebraska, was chartered in 1883 and is a member of the Lutheran Church--Missouri
Synod. The church's 1,400+ members view the Bible as the true and inspired Word of God and believe that salvation is by God's grace, through faith in Jesus Christ.
Immanuel offers three worship services each weekend, including contemporary and traditional services. Christ-centered education is provided in the elementary school (K-8), pre-school, and two daycare operations.
Immanuel tithes its general fund to support the worldwide mission activities of the Lutheran Church--Missouri Synod. Several mission trips to foreign countries have been sponsored by individual members and support from the "Endowment Fund." Immanuel offers support for the local Food Pantry, Meals on Wheels, Harbor of Hope, and other community service activities. Members are encouraged to see themselves as missionaries and the community as a mission field.
The Immanuel Family Life Center (FLC), just east of the church, provides the setting for contemporary worship services, Confirmation and Bible classes, and houses the downtown daycare operation. Facilities for small meetings to large banquets are available for public or private use. For more information see Family Life Center.
